Diverticula are small pockets, or hernias, in the outer wall of the large intestine (colon). They occur mainly in the terminal part of the left colon, which is S-shaped and therefore known as the sigmoid colon.
These diverticula are uncommon in Asian and African countries (<10% of the population) and much more common in Western countries (30% of the population over the age of 50), and appear to be related to fiber deficiency in the diet, dietary excesses, medication and/or stress.
Most diverticula are asymptomatic, i.e. produce no symptoms.
But in a small number of cases, they can become inflamed, causing pain and even infection. This is known as diverticular sigmoiditis or sigmoidal diverticulitis.
If left untreated, diverticula can lead to perforation or peritonitis. That’s why it’s so important to prevent the appearance of diverticula, and to treat them properly when they cause pain.
The whole purpose of Dr. Trotta’s Natural Medicine Institute blog and consultation is to heal the gut through proper health nutrition.
So anyone who follows this common-sense advice will be much less likely to have diverticula and their complications.
First of all, you need to eat a diet rich in fiber, i.e. vegetables every day, fruit regularly, and prefer whole grains and legumes such as lentils, brown rice and quinoa to pasta, white rice or white bread.
Secondly, we need to balance the intestinal flora and provide the necessary fatty acids to the intestinal mucosa.
Our intestinal flora has been damaged by the frequent use of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs, chlorinated tap water and antiseptics, and the increasing pasteurization of our industrial food.
The health of our gut, our colon and our health in general depends on the balance of our gut bacteria.
Regular intake of the four probiotic strains contained in PRODOCTA will ensure a balanced flora, thus preventing the inconvenience of diverticula.
It should be combined withOMEDOCTA, which contains omega-3 fatty acids specially selected to work in synergy with PRODOCTA ‘s four probiotic strains.
For example, Dr Trotta recommends taking :
PRODOCTA . 1-0-0, one capsule before breakfast
OMEDOCTA. 2-0-0. Two capsules before breakfast
These three capsules, taken together before every breakfast for three months, will balance your intestinal flora and, combined with a higher-fibre diet, prevent the inconvenience of diverticula.
What’s more, taking intestine pack for three months avoids most infections and therefore the need for antibiotics, which encourage the appearance of diverticula.
In addition, if you are overweight, which is often the case, Doctor TROTTA recommends evening micro-fasting with DRENADOCTA, an ecological, economical and effective way of achieving :
– a powerful detox that cleanses your intestines, colon and the entire interior of your body
– natural, effortless weight loss at night.
